A Home Energy Rating sets the standard for measuring the energy efficiency of Australian homes. Issued by the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), Home Energy Rating assessments guide designers, builders and households to make choices that lower energy bills and reduce emissions.
Backed by government and grounded in science, Home Energy Rating assessments give Australians the confidence to build and upgrade homes that use less energy and are more comfortable to live in.

Your assessment includes an on-site inspection and accredited modelling of your home, resulting in an official Home Energy Rating Certificate.

What we look at
A home doesn't perform as a collection of individual products. Insulation, glazing, orientation, shading, air leakage and building services interact with each other.
Depending on the assessment, Mantle considers roof and ceiling, walls, floors, windows and doors, insulation, draughts, orientation, solar exposure, shading, heating and cooling, hot water, ventilation and renewable energy.
The objective is not simply to produce a higher rating. It is to identify improvements that make sense for your particular home, comfort priorities, budget and future plans.
A smarter approach to retrofit
Replacing windows might help one home enormously and represent poor value in another. More insulation isn't automatically the first priority. Solar panels can reduce purchased electricity but don't fix a poorly performing building envelope.
