Aiming for the stars
Mantle are accredited NaTHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) assessors. NatHERS measures a home’s energy efficiency to generate a star rating, and remains the most popular pathway to demonstrate compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) energy efficiency requirements. Around 90 per cent of building approvals in 2020-2021 were assessed via the Scheme.
With NatHERS, a star rating is applied to rate the energy efficiency of a home. The higher the star rating, the less energy is needed to heat and cool the home to keep it comfortable. A star rating of 6 or above is required in most parts of Australia for detached homes, with this increasing to 7 NatHERS Stars this year.
Mantle can partner with you or your designer to improve the star rating of your home. Not only will an increased star rating save you in energy costs, it also opens the door for you to access other benefits, such as ‘Green Energy Loans’ only available to owners of homes with a high star rating.
